Development
The Department for International Development (DFID) leads the British Government's fight against world poverty. DFID provides assistance to poor people and to contribute to meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). From 2008 to 2011 there will be three main objectives for the DFID Indonesia programme: i) to support the development of stronger and more accountable institutions; ii) to delivery poverty reduction, focussing on achievement of particular off-track MDGs; and iii) to help Indonesia combat climate change and radicalisation. DFID has committed £75 million for Indonesia from 2008-2011.
More information on major programmes can be found at: http://www.dfid.gov.uk/Where-we-work/Asia-East--Pacific/Indonesia/
